My current work involves small clips or sequential stories about the human condition.  Many are done in a series and are numbered. This allows multiple captured moments of the same character which may be viewed alone or viewed as part of a series. My story is usually private. It changes as it evolves during the collage of images as does my internal conversation with the character. My hope is that you want to engage, interact, and have your own story.

 

I digitally collage images that are public domain, things I have sketched, photographs that I have taken, or any object of interest. Sometimes I may overlap these images many times, and in some cases, create totally new characters. I use layers of paper, ink, oil paint, graphite, charcoal and then incase these images in wax to add a very physical textural element almost as a sculpture. I am excited to keep experimenting with a mixed media without any rules.
